While composing a post, a red `[ NO ALT ]` badge (see example [here](https://chriscoyier.net/2023/01/25/musing-upon-an-alt-text-badge-on-images/)) should appear on each media without an ALT. When clicked, it will open the Edit dialog (it is basically the same as the Edit button).\r\n\r\n2. When clicking the Publish button, if there are images without ALT text, a dialog will appear that will show each of them with the input text to edit (same dialog as current edit could work) with two buttons: `[ Skip ]` `[ Done ]` (skip should be grayed, dimmed). Maybe for the last image, the Done button should read Publish.\r\n\r\n3. A new preference option should be added for users that would like to avoid the suggestion prompt. This option will be false by default, the feature is opt-out to encourage users. Currently, there is a similar feature in Twitter that is opt-in.\r\n\r\n## Context\r\n\r\nWe run a poll on [Mastodon](https://elk.zone/m.webtoo.ls/@patak/109732787938714669) and [Twitter](https://twitter.com/patak_dev/status/1617136714400600064) about UX to encourage users to add ALT to their attached images.\r\n\r\n\u003Cimg width=\"611\" alt=\"Mastodon poll results, see linked Post above\" src=\"https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/583075/216021585-6840e3ff-37f0-4c47-9b64-399c8d55e10d.png\">\r\n\r\n\u003Cimg width=\"596\" alt=\"Twitter poll results, see linked Tweet above\" src=\"https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/583075/216021418-b73f5c55-7910-437a-afd0-a57e0b7c185e.png\">\r\n\r\nSo suggesting + opt-out seems to be what most users will prefer/accept.\r\n\r\n@antfu [proposed](https://twitter.com/antfu7/status/1617173310235901953): \r\n> having an inline textbox with a placeholder, something like \"Add a description to the media make it more reachable\". I was actually going to file a bug about how you can't do it, until I read https://github.com/elk-zone/elk/issues/860#issuecomment-1381546859 and realized that you can, it's just really hard to see because it's a tiny light-grey 'X' on top of a grey background.\r\n\r\nIt should be easier for users to see how to delete an image. Either the X should always remain (like the ALT and Edit buttons), or it should have a different color background (again, like the ALT and Edit buttons), or it should be a color that is more likely to be visible.\n\n### Reproduction video or screenshot\n\nHere's what it looks like without a mouse-over\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHere's what it looks with with a mouse over the first image. It's basically invisible in this image.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHere's the mouse over the second image. It's a tiny bit more visible here, but still very easy to miss/hard to see.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\n\n### Additional Context\n\nI want to be clear what the failure mode for this kind of thing is. Elk is amazing (thank you for all your hard work!), but after the 0.5 update I was stuck with an in-progress post where I couldn't delete images. Because of that, I couldn't get rid of the post itself, and so I couldn't create a new post at all. I had to switch away from Elk in order to create a new post. Deleting images should be immediately obvious.",[3087,3088],{"name":3021,"color":3022},{"name":3024,"color":3025},1283,"Image deletion is *really* hard to see","2023-01-18T07:09:40Z","https://github.com/elk-zone/elk/issues/1283",0.75025886,{"description":3095,"labels":3096,"number":3105,"owner":3027,"repository":3028,"state":3079,"title":3106,"updated_at":3107,"url":3108,"score":3109},"Some comments: \r\n\r\n## Accessibility\r\n- [x] the gold color used in a lot of places (like links) doesn't have sufficient contrast with white, should be > 4.5 : 1\r\n- [x] the logo `\u003Cimg>` doesn't have an `alt` attribute (replace the `aria-label` with `alt`) \r\n- [x] there are icon buttons with no text content or labels (see https://hidde.blog/naming-things-to-improve-accessibility/)\r\n\r\n## Mastodon features\r\n- [ ] can't add language to Toots\r\n\r\n## Rendering features\r\n- [x] if I use backticks to render code it shows as three backticks (?)\r\n\r\n## Internationalization\r\n- [x] HTML element lacks `lang` attribute",[3097,3098,3101,3102],{"name":3021,"color":3022},{"name":3099,"color":3100},"c: feature","2878FF",{"name":3047,"color":3048},{"name":3103,"color":3104},"p: 1-normal","BFDADC",195,"Feedback from @hdv@front-end.social","2022-12-19T15:30:16Z","https://github.com/elk-zone/elk/issues/195",0.7710037,{"description":3111,"labels":3112,"number":3114,"owner":3027,"repository":3028,"state":3079,"title":3115,"updated_at":3116,"url":3117,"score":3118},"When the user clicks the icon to reply, the client seems to reload and show an editor for replying in the thread.\r\n\r\nIt will be an improvement if we can have a similar experience to writing a new Toot where a dialog opens up.\r\n\r\nThe dialog for replying may also contain a hint that it is for replying to an existing Toot by displaying a portion of the Toot it is replying to.",[3113],{"name":3099,"color":3100},125,"feat: reply dialog instead of reload","2022-11-28T10:29:31Z","https://github.com/elk-zone/elk/issues/125",0.7748147,{"description":3120,"labels":3121,"number":3124,"owner":3027,"repository":3028,"state":3079,"title":3125,"updated_at":3126,"url":3127,"score":3128},"I don't see a way to remove an image from a draft post.
